May 29, 2002 - Baltimore to Chesapeake City Md.
Bill got up real early to get some oil that he ordered to be delivered to the boat this morning. Then he took the car back to Enterprise and got back to the boat about 9:00. We prepared the boat for our trip from Baltimore to Chesapeake, about 55 miles away. It was a pretty day and we cruised the Chesapeake and Delaware Bay with no problems, until I took a nap and Bill was taking shower and Catherine was at the helm. Bill noticed that Cath had turned the boat around. He jumped out of the shower and went to see what was what. Well. Cath, said that the markers that were on our charts weren't there and she got confused and turned around to see what was what. I woke up with a start to find them trying to figure out what had happened. Needless to say, they figured it out and we were o.k. I guess some markers had been replaced with range markers and it showed it different on our charts. The water was calm all day and we arrived about 3:00 at the Chesapeake Inn and Marina with the folks from Mo Martini and Serendipity waving to us. They had left Baltimore much earlier than we had and were docked at Shaffers Marina across from us. They had already checked out the town and said how cute it was.
We got uptown as quickly as we could to see for ourselves and did find a very very old historic little town. Lots of the old homes with dates and the owner's names and plaques near the front doors and a few shops. Very quaint for sure. Our marina was right in town, which made it very convenient. We had a sandwich on the deck while listening to a live band playing a lot of good music. Fun. Catherine was looking forward to watching the Denver Avalanche play Detroit in the play offs, so we were back at the boat in time for Bill to get the Satellite T.V. hooked up. Tomorrow we head to Cape May.
