HULL MARINA AND VISIT TO OTTAWA
We arrived in Hull Quebec early evening and settled in to get organized for Joanne and Bert's arrival tomorrow afternoon. We were tired, but I did a load of laundry and we had a little, simple dinner and went to bed. We must have been tired because we both slept in until 9:00. We found out that the grocery store is too far to walk to, so Bill took my list and his bike and got a few things. Before he went though he put his wet suit on and dove under the boat to see what is wrong. He discovered that both props are slightly bent, but not too bad. It looks like we will have to keep going carefully and slowly until we get to Kingston where we hope someone can put new ones on for us.
After Joanne and Bert arrived, we took a taxi over to Ottawa to see the town and have a bite of dinner. We really like the town and will stay tomorrow to take a tour to see the sights.
Wednesday we boarded the double decker bus for a 2 hour drive all around. We could get off and on as often as we want to but we took the whole tour and got off at the market square. Bert took the trolley back to the boat and Bill, Joanne and I walked around town and had lunch. It started raining real hard and we ducked into a pub for lunch. There was a pretty big demonstration downtown and a lot of strange different looking people demanding all kinds of things from the GOVERNMENT. Mostly women. I wish I understood exactly what they were demanding. Many, Many police all over town shaking their heads about things. We enjoyed the tour very much and this is truly a BEAUTIFUL city. It is real clean and pretty and the people are just delightful and friendly. Everyone should visit Ottawa someday.
