Naples and Marco Island

March 16 - 18, 2002 - Naples and Marco Island

I caught the flu that everyone had been plagued with and it hit me during the night, so when Bill and I departed for Marco Island, I felt just rotten. We got off and I just rested most of the way, which was only about a 2 hour trip. We stayed at the Marco River Marina, which was very nice. We were supposed to go to dinner with Carol and John Patton and Nancy and Chuck Worthington, but I felt too punk to try it, and I cancelled. We were able to reschedule it for Sunday and had a lot of fun. Jo and Ralph arrived on Sunday and it was so good to see them. They are to be with us for the trip to Key West.

Monday, I felt some better, so the Lundgrens and us took the trolley ride all around Marco, then went to dinner at the Patton's Condo. It's always fun to get together with my St. Joe.High School friends. Carol had invited the Lundgrens and us and Jeannine and Ladd Slavecik, who winter in the Naples area and their daughter Lauri who lives in St. Joe. Carol fixed a delicious dinner and, as always, we had much to talk about.

Now on to the next adventure - Key West tomorrow.
